Follow Your Own Path QAL: Schedule and Sponsors

Welcome to the official kickoff of my fifth annual quilt along. I am so pleased you are here. As usual, the QAL begins today, April 3, and ends June 15 with the parade of finished quilts.

Please grab the QAL button above using the HTML code below. Pasting it on your sidebar will help to spread the word: readers of your blog who click it will be brought to the main page of the QAL. If you want it the button smaller, simply change the height from 200 to 150.

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://www.mmmquilts.com/2021/03/follow-your-own-path-fifth-annual-qal.html" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" target="_blank"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="800" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCwoCWLPCOQ3j2yxOFNbyorOyj_slvikdcVNE2WNJ9uU6JJv9xx8FzAoDOkL1E0LOR9GV8Td03NkbgKDynB1mkQhkTJNVoVMIeRLvFJ40odk8FI4zu7-IuoNoL8r9qUTaUVegfp67T7jk_/s200/Follow+Your+Own+Path.png" / /></a></div>

I would also love it if you would pin the graphic on Pinterest, and for any posts you make on Instagram, I've started a hashtag: #followyourownpathqal

Here is the schedule:

As each post goes live, I will provide direct links.

You will have your choice of two sizes of quilt to make (or make both ha!).
The baby size, 42"x46", is the one I made for Modern by the Yard, the ezine published by Benartex.
The pattern for it is in the ezine. To download your free copy of the ezine simply click here! It uses fat eighths for the arrow blocks.

If you would like to make the throw, 54"x60", shown below in flimsy form, then the instructions for it will be printed right here on the blog. It uses fat quarters for the arrow blocks. Later I'll have a pattern in my Etsy shop that will contain both sizes as well as a bonus cushion cover project.
On Tuesday, April 6, I'll be back with the exact fabric requirements.

Sponsors

I am so pleased to have the following sponsors for my quilt along. Their generosity is much appreciated, and I hope you will remember that when you are indulging in a little online shopping.

Benartex has supported me in three of the five quilt alongs.

They are offering a fabric bundle of 'Believe in Unicorns' which is the fabric I used for the throw size quilt.

New this year is Aurifil!
I pieced the throw with a 50 weight thread 2360, a kind of coffee brown that worked perfectly with the variety of fabrics. It is a spool I purchased. I will be quilting it with another 50 wt that they are sending me!

Also new this year is Hobbs Batting. I used their Premium 80/20 in the baby quilt for the ezine, and I will be using their black 80/20 for the throw.

They are sending me a queen size roll of cotton batting along with the black for me to send to one lucky winner!

Even before I was an Island Batik ambassador, I used their batting and just love it.

Mad About Patchwork has supported me in several of my blog activities over the years.

They are located in Stittsville, Ontario, which is just outside of Ottawa. They are offering a gift certificate to their store.

Bernie of Needle & Foot Fine Fabrics is back again this year.
Bernie lives in Grass Valley, California. She is offering a fabric bundle to one winner.

Make Modern is an ezine I just love and have subscribed to for a few years now. Just in case you didn't know or see my sidebar 😁 I'm in the most recent issue.

They are offering a 6-month subscription to one winner. If you want to get a copy of the current edition, just click my quilt on the sidebar, or the icon above!

Joanne of Canuck Quilter Designs is a Canadian living in Iowa for several years now.
She is offering one winner two PDF patterns from her shop.
AND
For all my readers! Canuck Quilter is offering a code for 20% off your order placed between today and June 30! Use code MMM2021

Leanne of Devoted Quilter runs her business out of Newfoundland.

She is offering one winner their choice of two PDF patterns from her Etsy shop.

Lisa of Love to Color My World is another new sponsor this year.
She is offering one winner their choice of one PDF pattern from her Etsy shop.

Cheryl of Meadow Mist Designs is once again sponsoring me. She lives in North Carolina.

Cheryl was a mentor when I joined the New Quilt Bloggers group in 2015, and has sponsored each one of my QALs. She is offering two winners their choice of two PDF patterns from her shop.

Yvonne of Quilting Jet Girl is another mentor of mine from that same hop in 2015.
She is also a pattern editor, having edited for Leanne and Cheryl and also for me.😊 She lives in Hawaii, and is offering a $24 coupon, good for two PDFs of the winner's choice from her shop.

Lorna of Sew Fresh Quilts creates some of the most popular quilting patterns going. She lives in southwestern Ontario.
Lorna is offering one winner a $50 gift certificate to her shop.

Cindy of Stitchin at Home also lives in southwestern Ontario.
Cindy is offering one PDF pattern of choice from her shop to one winner.

And then there is me! I, too, live in southwestern Ontario. I am offering one winner their choice of two PDF patterns from my Etsy shop.

I'll see you on Tuesday for the fabric requirements.
