DrEAMi #77

Second last DrEAMi post of the year! Did you have any Drop Everything And Make it moments this past month? Any distractions that wouldn't let go?

I had a couple!

One was the tiny Palestinian flag I made last Sunday, something that I've actually wanted to do for a couple of weeks, and I finally succumbed.

Have you seen the 12" x 24" Palestinian flag free pattern by Eva @indigo.madder? Click to get the pattern from a sister Albertan.😉 Please spread the word. Once I get back home I’ll be making one. Thank you to Yvonne @quiltingjetgirl for alerting me to her post. People are being silenced, people, famous ones, like Susan Sarandon, are being dropped by Hollywood from films, intelligent, vital members of our society like Dr. Yipeng Ge being kicked out of the University of Ottawa residency for speaking out against a genocide and criticizing Israel. This is at the least disturbing and indeed frightening.

A customer in Ontario bought the one remaining makeup pouch using Pat Sloan's Bird Song line, and messaged me to ask if it was possible to make another like it? She had bought one very similar in Italy and her daughter loves it and wants it, so she ordered two for stocking stuffers. I got it made within one day! Talk about focus... And? I was getting ready to go to Dayna's, in two days, and madly sewing on her Christmas Tree Farm quilt, but I got it done and I still made my flight lol.

Last month:
Diann has been cross-stitching up squirrels all month! Here are the two latest ones to add to her collection.

And Kate made the most adorable mittens for her grandson.

  1. I think Eva's pattern is really gorgeous, and I'm glad that people are continuing to speak up. I have noticed a slight shift in President Biden's wording with regards to Israel/Palestine, and hope that if we continue to make our voices heard a larger shift will come as well. Wow, congratulations on the sale and having the time to make a second pouch before you had to leave home.

  2. I am so impressed with your little flag, Sandra. I definitely do not understand the push in my country to not criticize Israel, under the guise of being anti-semitic if you do so. I saw a great statement on Insta the other day, on a Tiny Pricks Project post - do you follow them? "Peace will only come when both sides accept the other's right to live securely and safely." Meanwhile we stitch and sew to keep our sanity. Thank you for featuring my little projects from last month!
