My Best of 2023

My dad used to say that when he was a kid, the days would go so slowly from one weekend to the next, and it would take forever to get to his birthday or summer vacation. Now that he was retired, months passed like days, and a year was gone in a blink. I understand exactly what he meant! How is it three, no, coming up on four years since the world locked down for the pandemic? I feel my brain wanting to explode.

Regardless, another year has marched on by, and I am joining in with Cheryl at Meadow Mist Designs for a look back at things to celebrate in 2023. I usually start by flipping through all the posts I wrote - 81 - to see which ones got the most views.

1. The most-viewed post was The Art of Riding Thermals, a quilt I made for the Villa Rosa Designs January blog hop I was asked to be a part of.

This quilt lives with my niece, Sheila, in Edmonton, where it keeps her Postcard from Sweden quilt company.

Best of 2022

I'm writing up a quick post highlighting my top five posts of 2022, and linking it up with Cheryl at Meadow Mist Designs.

It's fun to look back on yet another year and say, 'oh yeah,' about several things that happened here on the blog.

Best of 2020

Welcome to my stop on the Best of 2020 Linky party hosted by Cheryl of Meadow Mist Designs. Be sure to check out lots of other bloggers linking up their favourites from the past year.

It's so true what Cheryl wrote in her own Best Of post, that it's fun to look back and find posts and events you'd actually forgotten about. I also think it's good prep for writing the Planning for 2021 post. From 30 years of teaching where we had to submit our year plan and goals each year, it's a habit I've done in my professional and personal life for a long time. Looking back has always been the launchpad for the subsequent year's goals.

Best of 2018

With hours left in 2018, I am scrambling to squeeze in a few more things, one of which is this post.

I've participated in all three of Cheryl's previous Best Of linky parties, so I did not want to miss 2018! It's good that I'm doing this, because it made me update my Quilts of 2018 page, which has been sadly neglected since, oh, the last make in August! Gulp. Cheryl of Meadow Mist Designs hosts this linky party on her blog, one of my favourite blogs, I might add. This is the fourth year she's done this. I've always done mine by stats, but this year I'm simply picking my favourite makes. At least that's my intent as I start writing this post! You never know where I may go, if you've read me for any length of time. Heck, I never know where my own post may go, LOL.

Reflections and Intentions

Reflections Part 1: Celebrations

Each year, during the last week of the year, Cheryl of Meadow Mist Designs hosts a party where you look back over your posts and choose the best five of the year. You choose them however you want.
May I just take this opportunity to say, this button rocks, Cheryl; I love it!
I'm not one to look at my stats more than a couple of times a year. So I was rather surprised when I looked now to see how many posts I've written so far this year, and I see that many got well over 1000 views! That is pretty amazing when I realize that just a little over 4 years ago I was regularly getting a number of views I could count on one hand. 😇 I've written or am about to publish 130 posts this year, probably a few more because of my DREAMi and Sunday Stretch posts this coming Saturday and Sunday and maybe another finish.
