DrEAMi! #55

Welcome to the August linkup for DrEAMi! Someone asked me why the I is lower case and so I thought it worth explaining! Dr is for Drop, so that's obvious, as she noted. Well, back when I thought of this acronym for those times when we are mesmerized by a project that grabs us and we have to just drop whatever we should be doing and make this thing, it was all about iPhone, iPad, iLife, iBooks, etc etc. Yeah my 'i' is on the end. Also DrEAMI looked odd to me. Either one, however DrEAMi or DrEAMI work in my books!

Last month Cindy of Stitchin at Home shared this lovely scrappy squirrel that really sunk its teeth into her!

And Kathleen at Kathleen McMusing made this mini quilt, à propos for the past nearly two years.

Well? I hope you were more distracted than I was - I have no DrEAMi this month, as I didn't get much sewing done at all. That's okay, lots of outside time and life stuff took precedence. Oh. And lots of computer time spent on updating and adding to my 'Oh, the Places You'll Go!' suitcase quilt pattern, which I will leave on sale for today, just for my blog readers!
The large cushion that Brady is leaning against is the addition as are all twelve 6" 'pocket' blocks. I love that he and his friend who was over at Brady's house thought of putting bookmarks and glasses in the actual pocket!

  1. Thanks for hosting & I know I didn't have anything last month, but think I'll do a special post this time as I do have a few things I started & finished recently. The one I thought I'd post is still in the throws of being quilted. Take care & hugs.

  3. Every month is different, isn't it? Sometimes we're focused on something longer term that just needs to be done, others we are pulled in many directions. Glad you got your pattern updated and the fun reading pillow designed! Thanks for hosting us!

  4. For some reason I thought I had two DrEAMi projects this month, but I only have one. Anyway I love the pillow for Brady and how he's already using it. He's such a great kid!

    1. I thought you had two, too. I remember reading about it and thinking that's a DrEAMi if ever I saw one. Was it Vicki's test pattern - you made it in a day and had to sneak it in? IDK. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

  5. This is the BEST new acronym I've learned. And I had 2 DrEAMI projects this month. They were such fun! Finally having the time to "drop everything" and explore a new project has been wonderful this summer.

  6. Yippee! I was hoping to see a picture of B with his new pillow. Simply fabulous! And reading while lounging underneath his football quilt, too. That's a whole lot of LOVE in that photo. I've had nothing biting me for a while now other than mosquitoes. I expect that to change shortly as I've noticed a whole lot of temptations lately - like this good sized pillow for example. {{Hugs}} Stay safe. ~smile~ Roseanne

  7. That’s okay, Sandra. At some point they’re all squirrels. Good to see a Brady photo! I like what he and his friend thought of for the pockets.

  9. So good to see the photo of Brady enjoying and using (yaay!) his quilt and cushion - I knew you said you'd made the cushion large - I didn't imagine its size - fabulous!
