Centred Pattern Release and You Got This!

I am so pleased to release the quilt pattern for Centred, available as of today in my Etsy shop, Sandra Jane Quilts. I am doubly pleased to present the second version of my pattern, which I have named "You Got This".

This is the quilt I made during my Centred QAL.

It is hard to let this one go, as I love this multi-coloured version so much! However, thanks to a recent story on our local CBC Windsor News, I became aware of Launch Pad Recovery Center and its work with recovering addicts. I am so in awe of people who have chosen to beat their addiction problems which are often, but not always, caused by mental health issues. I love this part of their mandate: "Our holistic approach allows healing of the Mind, Body and Spirit."

Centred QAL - Blocks B2 and B3

I cannot believe that the final four blocks are out today, and the next time I 'see' you, it will be with flimsy 'in hand'! I laid my twelve blocks on the design wall today and had a little shiver of excitement pulse through me, because oh wow, it's going to look terrific! From what I've been seeing on Instagram and in the linky, yours are going to be giving that same shiver. 😍 I cannot wait to get my last four done and in position. They are half done as I type, so with any luck, they'll be in a photo at the end of this post!

Centred QAL - Construction: Block A

Yay! We get to start sewing this week. I don't know about you, but I rarely cut an entire quilt out; I just have to see what the block is going to look like, so I invariably start piecing and then cut as I go. So in a QAL, it's hard to have to wait isn't it? This week we are making Block A.

Island Batik Log Cabin Blog Hop Final Week

Centred: Log Cabin Blog Hop With Island Batik

It is my day to share my Log Cabin quilt, and I am very excited to show you what I created.

My line of fabric is Prairie Skies. I was born in Alberta, and spent many happy times at my grandma's farm, and at my aunt's farm with my cousins, so I know all about those blue Alberta prairie skies. Blue is also my favourite colour, so I was so happy to get to work with this line!

I'm Back and Back at it!

Pretty much what my husband said when he realized I would be up at 5:30 on Thursday, the morning after we arrived home to teach yoga! All good. I love my life. It is nice to get away and be warm, but it is lovely to be back home. Here is what I gazed at one of the ten days we spent in the Sarasota and Port Charlotte areas of Florida:

Yup I'm Here

**If you're looking for TBT aka Throwback Thursday, thank goodness for Andrée, who is hosting this month at Quilting and Learning - What a Combo! while I am still in a bit of recuperating mode...

My friend Helen, of Midget Gem Quilts told me to take care of myself after the wedding, that she found it "a bit flat". She was right. I was unprepared for how much of an emotional rollercoaster it would be, all rooted in supreme happiness for my 'baby', but poignancy and joy had a tug-of-war in my heart. There was some stress as well, with out of town family in town, some in our house, some not, but the entire wedding weekend went off without a glitch. It was perfection. Magical. Beautiful. Splendour abounded, and a splendid event from the rehearsal to the final goodbyes on Tuesday to departing family.

See what I mean about the Cinderella marries her Prince, Beauty and the Beast, "Tale as old as time; true as it can be..." ambiance? Ahhh....
