The 30 Quilt Designs Challenge 2019 has ended. It began on March 15 and ran for 70 days, ending on May 25. There were just nine of us this year, about half the number from last year. This was due to the platform switching to a private FaceBook group, as well as to lots of last year's participants being just too darn busy, both in real life and in their quilting life!
My wonderful main sponsor who came to me out of the blue, and who I now consider a friend (I've said it before but it's amazing how many people I have met through my blog), is Brenda, of Quilt Designs in the Yard.
You must check out her site here. She does amazing work. Think Barn Quilts, but scaled down so you can have them in your yard, maybe on a shed, to dress it up, in a spot in the garden maybe where things don't grow so well, or maybe at your front door!

Two Ongoing Challenges
The first challenge is one I am hosting for the third year the #30quiltdesignschallenge2019. You can look at that hashtag or the previous two years, by changing the year, on Instagram.
This year you won't find as many designs on Instagram because we decided to protect them by having a private FaceBook group. The number of designers sadly has dropped to about half. Some have said they just don't have time this year, but we are wondering if it is a bit of an aversion to yet another private FB group...you're preaching to the choir here; I basically only use FB for Island Batik and one good friend, and now this. If you'd like to be a part, and are fine with using Instagram, then that is absolutely fine and it's not too late! In fact, we are considering extending the deadline from May 15 to the 25, which is 70 days total, what the other two years were. That still gives you 5 weeks! Shoot me an email or DM me through Instagram; we really are a supportive group, and there have been some terrific designs, some digital, lots on graph paper, so if that's a concern, banish it!

Did I mention there are some sweet prizes?!

Cheerio!
Our March challenge as Island Batik ambassadors was to take a vintage quilt or quilt block and reimagine it with a modern flair.

30 Quilt Designs Challenge Announcement
This is the main post for the third annual Quilt Design Challenge I host on Instagram. It gives me a thrill to write that sentence!
Profuse apologies that this was not up two days ago as planned... Real Life got in the way, and I was waiting on a response from a potential sponsor, and then Instagram, where I originally planned to set up a private account, went whackola, but so did FaceBook... All good, though. Here we go!
Here is the link to the first challenge that I co-hosted with Lisa of Sunlight in Winter Quilts
Here is the link to the second challenge in 2018 hosted by moi.
And now, on with the deets of the third challenge!
Feel free to grab this graphic for your blog, sidebar, or Instagram post.
