Well, we’ve got all the units made, so let’s put them together and make some blocks.
There are four blocks to make this week. Next week we’ll make the sashing units and assemble the quilt top!
1. For one block you need (1) SiaS unit, (4) BG/Fabric C star points (kite shaped ones), (2) BG/Fabric B spiky star units and (2) Fabric A/Fabric B spiky star units.
2. Arrange them in a 9-patch formation as shown, paying careful attention to the orientation of the spiky star units.
Press the seams open or to one side. Make four blocks, and that’s it; you’re done for this week!
Susan in Australia, aka
Granny Smith's Quilting sent me a photo of her blocks. What with all that’s going on in her life right now, I’m so impressed she’s actually a bit ahead. Way to go Susan!
I just love her fabrics.
Be sure to check out my
Diamond Baby quilt which I posted last night, just after the newest edition, #70, of
Make Modern was published. I am in it!
It’s a really good design for using up small strips and scraps. The issue is just $10AU and has ten quilt patterns within it, as well as regular features and articles. You can still purchase an all-access subscription, which is a terrific deal that gives you all 70 issues, so 700 quilt patterns. Check it out
here. It also will give you the next few (sniff) last issues as they’ve decided to step away from publishing the magazine. Hop over for a visit to
the Make Modern website to check out the issue and the all-access pass. I am an affiliate so I do get a commission if you purchase through my links. Sales of the magazine will close in March 2027, so don’t wait too long to decide if you want that all-access pass.

I wholeheartedly appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment, as they make my day! I answer every one by personal email. :-) Unless... you are a "no-reply" blogger, which can occur for a few reasons. You can get around that by writing out your email within your comment so that I can answer you.
