DrEAMi #70

Well typing that number, 70, gave me a bit of a pause. Wow. So I looked back to see just when I started this linky party where we celebrate everything squirrel and shiny and distracting...
January 28, 2017

Six years ago! Somehow it seems longer than that. Not only was it the first DrEAMi, but apparently it was the first time I hosted a linkup! Here is a graphic I used in that post that I just love.

The DrEAMi I talked about in that first post was none other than my house pattern, (see sidebar) which became a cushion cover. If you want to take a little peek back at that post, click here.

The DrEAMi projects I had in February would be the two Project Quilting challenges: 54-40 or Fight baby quilt for 14.3, and the Standing Stones mini-mini, just 6" square, for 14.4.

Seems like everyone was pretty well-behaved in January. Vicki of Vicki's Crafts and Quilting made this sweet shamrock runner, perfect for March.

With nearly two days of no power nor internet, I'll keep this short. Yes, we got our power back around 10 pm Thursday night (after 24 hours without it). We had power overnight and then Friday morning shortly after 10 am the power went out again while they repaired some lines that had been ripped out of people's homes by falling limbs and trees, replaced transformers (apparently they were running out because of so much damage from the ice storm). It came back on at 1 pm Friday, and the internet finally came back after nearly two days without, so I am grateful for these services which we take for granted. I am grateful for how hard these crews worked, through the night, ensuring critical services had power and the tending to residential areas unless there were live (and arcing in the street we back onto) lines.

Link up with a project that has distracted you this past month, so much so that, as I said in that first post, like the Metallica song, Nothing Else Matters, you keep sewing until it is DONE!

  1. Glad to hear that everything has been restored, we sure learn in a hurry how much we depend on both hydro and internet.

  3. It sure is hard without power and internet! Our son and DIL went 40 hrs without it before Christmas, not fun! Thanks for the feature!!!

  4. It sounds like the crews are working hard. I'm glad your power is back on; I had wondered how you were doing!

  5. Glad to hear you have power again & yes we know that scenario well, though our worst was a bit before we all relied on the internet. Love joining in with this, but the only thing I've done in February is still a flimsy, so am I allowed to show that? Been so hot at times here and we had a quick jaunt away that I really must blog about too. Thanks Sandra, take care & hugs.

  6. Hi Sandra! Look how far that sweet little first DrEAMi has come. Now, it's featured in its own pattern in Rainbow Neighbourhood! It happens to be on my sooner than later to-do list. I'm so glad you stuck with this fun linky party for six years. {{Hugs}} a bunch. ~smile~ Roseanne
