A Flimsy, a Fun Fabrication and a Flag

First of all the flimsy. This is a fat quarter bundle I picked up years ago from Bluprint or perhaps still Craftsy when I bought this. It came with the pattern which is called Suburbia by Cozy Quilts. Gorgeous fabrics and a design that showcases them so well.

It’s big: 58.5" x 60". I took my time and used my design wall throughout the entire process, working across the quilt with the 17 fabrics to evenly distribute colours and lights and darks. I just need to settle on a backing and then get it loaded and quilted. I'm thinking large meander as I want the fabrics to take centre stage. I have two, make that three, (I just remembered the Gravity kit--why have I waited so long on that?) other Craftsy/Bluprint quilt kits and one tote bag kit to check off my UFO, or rather, USO, list. That's not counting various other USOs and a couple of UFOs, so don't think I only have four items!

The second, a fun fabrication, is a request from one of my repeat customers on Etsy. She bought a makeup bag, loved it and left me such a glowing comment. Then she bought a second one and when I messaged her about getting a discount on a future order she told me what she was using them for: project bags for her knitting and crochet projects!

Lana asked if I would consider making her one a little bit bigger, one square wider and deeper, so I said I would lay one out. She loved the forest green makeup bag I currently have on Etsy, but she wanted a light-coloured lining. That immediately brought memories of my mum, who often complained about purses, how they always had dark linings, and she wanted "a bright lining, so I can see all m'stuff inside!" (English accent strong there) And she certainly did have a lot of stuff inside... but I digress. I gave Lana a few choices of light greens, and she picked this one. The zipper and pull is another from an order of zipper tape from Zipper Valley. The pull says 'Limited Edition', very à propos, wouldn't you agree?

It ends up being about 8" tall by 12" wide.

I may just make one or two more in this size and sell them as project bags.

The third f is for flagging, as in alerting, my readers in case anyone missed it, that the newly-released pattern,

is on sale for the rest of today, until midnight, for just $9.

Happy Monday!

I wholeheartedly appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment, as they make my day! I answer every one by personal email. :-) Unless... you are a "no-reply" blogger, which can occur for a few reasons. You can get around that by writing out your email within your comment so that I can answer you.
