DrEAMi! #56

Welcome to another edition of Drop Everything And Make it! Sarah of Confessions of a Fabric Addict sent me this amazing video. Squirrels are so very smart; we don't give them enough credit.

Isn't that just the best squirrel video yet? Bahaha. Well, let's see what we've all been up to over the past month.

I've chased two 'squirrels', but one I just started yesterday, (you may have seen it on Instagram yesterday) so I'll give it its own post and link up later.
Michael Miller + Robert Kaufman + Jane Sassaman + Northcott = delicious!

I updated my first-ever-published-in-a-magazine pattern On the Plus Side, to include instructions for a baby quilt size (that's what the fabric above is for) as well as the original throw. Benartex asked us designers if we wanted to use some digital, some actual new lines to mock up a new or previous pattern, so I used Blue and White Elegance, which should be out in quilt shops shortly, for the throw, and then they did a social media promo of the lines and our patterns. I've left the pattern on sale all week in my Etsy shop, 15% off.

The other isn't a true DrEAMi, because it didn't take over my sewing life as the two I've featured did! You'll see it as well in my DrEAMi post.

The two DrEAMis I'm featuring are quintessential DrEAMis, meaning these two ladies quite literally dropped everything else they should have/were supposed to be doing/sewing, and got to work on their respective squirrels, and didn't stop until they had a finished product. Now THAT, my friends is a true DrEAMi.

Janine of Quilts From the Little House shared her adorable sewing machine cover for her Featherweight.
Check out the vintage fabric she found! To die for. She was in the middle of another project, but those pieces and stitches were swept to the side for this cover that took over her sewing life!

Wendy of Pieceful Thoughts of My Quilting Life made this gorgeous mini, which was another true DrEAMi in that she dropped everything she was supposed to be doing and made this from start to finished product!

Wonderful photo shoot amongst all the green, both in the quilt background and in the photo background. This is from Kelly's new book Scrappy Improv Quilting. I made Balloon Ride, and it was such fun! It's a great book.

Well? How about you? Chased any squirrels? Remember this isn't a finish party, it's a squirrel or Drop Everything And Make it party, so please save those progress posts and regular finish posts for the many other finish parties out there, thank you!

  5. Funny video. I totally went bananas with drawstring bags this month. I think I made eleven of them, different sizes and materials.

  7. That is a cute video. They are very busy hoarding cones here these days. Meanwhile, you always choose such pretty fabrics and colours that coordinate so well. I wish I was better at that.

  8. No Dreamies in my sewing room, I've been too focused on finishing up UFOs. But it's fun to see what other's are doing. Love that vintage sewing machine cover, very fun.

  9. I saw that squirrel video too, and immediately thought it needs to be with the DrEAMi post - Sarah was on the ball! September flew by, but no squirrels in my quilt room, sadly. Thanks for the highlight of my sunflower mini!
