Here’s the back of them. I used more strips in the little plastic box to bind them!
These will go to Meals on Wheels but I'm waiting until I get a half dozen or so. Right now I have five in the stack.
The other blue project is making pillowcases from the extra backing fabric from my Seacliff Beach quilt. I'd bought four yards on sale of course, not sure of what pattern or original design I'd do, just aiming for a bed-sized quilt. Well, as you recall, it ended up being a throw. Instead of putting the leftover yardage back on the stash shelf, I left it out on my cutting table so it would bug me, and when I had a spare minute, planned to make them. That happened this week.

This is the Roll It Up pillowcase pattern by All People Quilt. I finish the seams with French seams. |
All that's left is a 7" wide WOF strip, which probably will be used in a couple of smaller makeup bags as lining. The soft turquoise ones I've made sell right away, and this water-themed fabric will be perfect for them.
Linking up with Angela at soscrappy for more February blue scraps work.
Way to use up every little bit of your scraps. Such a pretty set of pillow cases with French seams, no less!
ReplyDeleteThose are wonderful placemats, Sandra - perfect for using up strips! I love that backing fabric, too. And what a great idea to make pillow cases to go with your Seaglass quilt! I never make bed sized quilts anymore, but still sleep under my throw sized ones. We just put lots of different quilts on the bed in layers!
ReplyDeleteIt's always fun to see a bit of a decrease in your scrappy stash. Those pillow cases are really pretty.
ReplyDeleteGreat way to use up scraps!
ReplyDeleteI ended up making placemats with the crumb blocks that I made last year for the color challenge.
