Another Lyra Quilt Top

I worked hard to include this third version of Lyra in my newest pattern, and then I had a DrEAMi—Drop Everything And Make It—moment and pulled fabrics and looked at the logo colours and adjusted and cut and sewed…
The result!

It’s one of those “eee!” feelings to see it come to life.

I’ve named this version Artemis, after the recent orbit of the moon by the Artemis II expedition. It is one of three designs within the Lyra quilt pattern. Lyra, the original quilt, with all her layers of stars, was named after the Lyra constellation. I had asked Rose if she wanted to make the new design (which she did, in a flash) and upon subsequent email conversations where I had shown her the second design with the five stars floating against a moon or sun backdrop, she had said it would be a good tribute to Artemis II, in the Artemis logo colours. Brilliant.

That ignited a spark within me. Back to EQ8 I went, which is when I had another epiphany: take out the centre star so the moon is even more apparent, and then it hit me: four stars in the quilt for the four astronauts!

This one is the same size as the other two. All three versions are given within the pattern, which I’ve left on sale until midnight tonight for just CA$9.

Now to find a suitable backing and quilt it up! Oh and get Friday’s post ready to go. We will be making the spiky star points this week.
Remember you can pick up the pattern still at 25% off today!

I wholeheartedly appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment, as they make my day! I answer every one by personal email. :-) Unless... you are a "no-reply" blogger, which can occur for a few reasons. You can get around that by writing out your email within your comment so that I can answer you.
