SMGO Still!

SMGO--So Much Going On... Still!
I've been fairly quiet online here because my sewing machine has been whirring like crazy since my last post of my SAHRR round 4.

I got an order for a tote bag and a day or two after that an order for three mug cosies. Here is the tote bag, another one I absolutely loved, but because it's going to a good appreciative home for a returning customer, I was happy to send it off!
This is part of my pattern Positive Flow which includes instructions for two quilt sizes of interlocking plus blocks that flow across the quilt in three waving rows.

The back
The bottom
Love this magenta fabric by Troy Corporation -- Riverwoods Collection Modern something (it's cut off there) It doesn't show properly but it's not solid but kind of subtly mottled.

I even sneaked in a little surprise for her, an 'L' for Leanne, who purchased it.
I asked Leanne what she uses these for, and besides as a tote for herself, she has used one as a dust and storage bag for a bed quilt, and another was a gift for a baby shower filled with baby stuff. I'm adding her to my little fan club of my bags, along with Lana and Audrey.

I had had the two outer layers of the bag sewn and sitting with the cut out parts for the bottom and straps for a few months, complete with the lining yardage and a perfect size of batting, but other stuff got in the way (I think it was Lana's bag come to think of it!) so when Leanne had messaged me asking if I had any more bags available other than the one in the shop, I sent her a phot of this one not even quilted, and she loved it. At the time I had been making it, I had also cut out a matching makeup bag, since I've done that for myself and a couple of other customers. I never did sew it together, but I pulled it out, and, while making the bag parts, I chain-pieced the makeup bag too and then quilted and assembled it. Leanne passed on it, but as an extra thank you to her (as well as a discount) I whipped up a little Kleenex holder to match her bag. Would you believe it got from me to her in Toronto in 24 hours? Way to go Canada Post.

Love Zipper Valley zippers and pulls
The makeup bag is listed in my shop.

Once the tote was done, I made this little coaster for another person who ordered one of the Old World St. Nick mug cosies. One trip to the post office for two parcels!

I love using my Sulky threads collection on these smaller projects (makeup bag, coaster, and mug cosies) all quilted on my Bernina.

Then I got busy after some back and forth messaging about colours and themes with Martha about the mug cosies. She also lives in Ontario, but up near Ottawa. I got hers done on Tuesday.
The yellow one is for her, and the other two for her daughters.

My mug cosies are reversible. I had the blue and the yellow ones done first and was excited to show her so I took photos while there was sunshine and sent them.
Cats on the outside, dogs and rabbits on the inside for a blue animal-theme, and yellow floral on the outside with butterflies inside.

The inside of the llama one.
This one originally had a green/blue/yellow tiles fabric as the outer shell, but when I laughingly messaged that I'd found llama fabric but on pink for the blue animal-theme one, and sent a photo of the llama fabric, both daughters wanted it! Sadly I only had enough for three sides, and they didn't want a two-sides-different cosy, so made final decisions.

What was interesting with making these custom cosies, is that it made me dig a little in the stash and in offering up suggestions, I ended up making another mug cosy,
using scraps from a sack/purse I made several years ago.

It is listed here. As with all my tangible, (non-digital) items, they are not available in the US at this time due to the exorbitant tariffs. I checked into it, and an American customer would have to pay $17 over and above the $22 for these!

Since I'd already cut the tiles fabric one out, I chose a lining and now have parts for that one ready to go too!

So here I am on Wednesday, finally starting my PQ challenge! I had a few PIGS (Projects in Grocery Bags) from which to choose of the 'Of Another Era' vintage. I love that, PIGS. However, my PIGS aren't grocery bags. Most are just stacked together in a neat little bundle, some with the pattern, others not. One or two are in zipper bags that a sheet set comes in, very fancy. This stack of Nancy Halvorsen True Friends Collection was in a stack on one of my IKEA shelves. I even have 3.5 metres of flannel on a bolt in the cupboard ready for the backing!
Wonderfully soft romantic fabrics

There is yardage of one of the pinks, one of the blues and one of the creams. The rest are fat quarters or less, so it's going to be a bit creative. Good for the brain. I already made a runner and a table topper with these fabrics too so many of the smaller pieces are cut into.

First two blocks. Ten more to go and some flying geese borders. Wish me luck!

Sorry if I haven't been visiting, and I may not respond in a timely manner if you do comment, but yeah, it's been a little hectic! Wish me luck.
