I'm pretty proud of my second version of Centred. You can read the post here.
I am pleased as well because the pattern is now released and for sale in my Etsy shop, still on sale until midnight tonight, for just $8.
And I am pleased that the quilt has now gone to its new home, Launch Pad Recovery Centre. I took it and Elvira there on Friday. Sadly, the young man whose grandpa had taken him in, whose story I saw on CBC Windsor News, is no longer there. I had requested that he get this quilt. When I said oh no, a relapse? she nodded. I hope one day he will find his way to good health, free from addiction.

Thank you again so very much for participating. Many of you are 'alumni', some for all four years, and that makes my heart so full of gratitude. I am sure you all know, because we seem to have been following each other's progress, that Jean of All Points of the Compass has been having some troubles with her heart, and has had to go into hospital. She is a 4-year participant, and so I hope you'll pop over to her blog and wish her well and speedy recovery.

ReplyDeleteMy Centred is quilted thanks to the unseasonably cold weather that kept me out of the garden. All it needs is the binding. Should be done by the end of the week. Nothing like a deadline to get things moving, eh, Sandra?

ReplyDeleteHi Sandra! Seeing that calendar each year makes me smile and realize that your Dad had a fun sense of humor. He would have been a good chap to know, I think. {{Hugs}} I miss mine every day and it's been 40 years this year. I'm looking forward to seeing the quilt parade! ReplyDeleteMine has been finished for about 2-3 weeks, so I'll get my post on today some time. I still miss my Dad very much too & he's been gone 6 years today the 16th June. Once I've done the linkup I'll pop along & have a look at the other quilts as well. Love your second version of this & hope it makes someone very happy. Take care, stay safe & hugs from down under.

ReplyDeleteWell, I think your dad is famous now. ☺ I help with the Wellness Court, which has participants with the addictions. It is expected that participants have a slip, but the key is admitting to the slip and getting back on track. Recovery is a long journey. I hope that young man continues on his recovery journey.

I am finally home, after stent surgery, and looking at all the Centred quilts, know that, once again, this has been a wonderful event, in celebration of Sandra's Dad.
