What is in my Island Batik Box #2?

It's been HARD having to wait until nearly the end of the month to show off all the goodies I received in my second box. I will be using these over the next six months. All of the fabrics, thread, batting, bag pattern and notions for it, and needles were supplied by Island BatikAurifilHobbs Batting, ByAnnieSchmetz Needles, and Deb Tucker's Studio 180 Designs.

Just look at that collection of colour! They always give us two sets of six Basics and Blenders and several yards of a neutral. I'm so glad I got some pinks and greens and a couple of reds this time. If you'd like to watch me open it live, you can see this on YouTube!
Each of us got the new Go! me cutter and two dies. However, we don't get to keep them. Say what? No, we are to give them to someone who is fairly new, or brand new, to quilting, along with a little quilt project using those two days we make for them. You'll see what I did this week, maybe get a sneak peek at the end of the post!

Hobbs Batting sent us three packets. I see a black background quilt in my future. The last quilt I made with their silk blend I gave away, so I'm thinking I need to make one for myself this time.

As always, there is a Surprise! package set which I can't show you until a later date when it hits quilt shops. Oh my, it is fabulous.

For September there is a bag blog hop where we have each chosen to make a bag pattern from By Annie. This isn't mine, as there was a wee mixup, so I'll put an updated photo in when mine arrives. I'm using Nouveau Soul, which was released this past Spring. It has Sandra all over it.

See that fat quarter stack of lovely blues? I'm using a bunch of them this month! The 5" stash builders are great too; I'm glad I got a pack of neutrals this time.

Aurifil sent me these lovely colours!

We are also working with Deb Tucker's Studio 180 Designs this half of the year. I received the Corner Pop II ruler and this set of luscious fabrics to use for my project.

I had to pry Bella off my stack of blues that I'd unfolded. Don't mind the pink and turquoise fabric, not Island Batik but another squirrel project I was mostly ignoring... Doesn't she love those new Island Batiks though?!

Ahh, here they all are, kitty kicked off them. Come back in a couple of days to see what they grew up into, and to whom I gifted it and the AccuQuilt cutter and dies!
Remember you can see me open the boxes live here. You can see a sneak peek of the beginnings of the project on my Instagram.

Be sure to come back tomorrow as I am releasing a brand new Christmas quilt pattern which you can see on Instagram!

  1. Total fun - well and a ton of work too! Can’t wait to see who you gift the Go to! Recomended your yoga to my teacher who was talking of more Yin in her practice. She too has a kitty that visits while we zoom. I have yet to do yours but one of these days I surely will!

I wholeheartedly appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment, as they make my day! I answer every one by personal email. :-) Unless... you are a "no-reply" blogger, which can occur for a few reasons. You can get around that by writing out your email within your comment so that I can answer you.
