Orange is not one of my go-to colours (sorry Anja) but man I do love it here! From the peach to the fiery intense oranges, I am happy with this block. Orange adds a little 'je ne sais quoi' to a quilt. Spice. Warmth. Mmmm! Smell! I will never forget the smell of a Florida orange grove in bloom, ahhh. We have a mock orange tree in our back yard here which smells heavenly! In fact, that's how I found it, my nose did!
Here are all my RSC blocks together so far!
Makes me happy!
One thing I do not have, is any orange Tula Pink prints for the #100days100blocks2018 challenge on Instagram that I'm in. So, a few blocks back, I pulled out my orange ziploc bag and there was the Grunge leftovers from Aidan's quilt, Radiance. I used them again to make today's block, #43, along with a scraps of a sewing-theme orange print I picked up a couple of years ago:
I'm glad I joined in this year with the challenge: sewing with friends, virtual and real, is so much better, the challenge of keeping up is good for me, meeting new people through this is wonderful, being amazed by some of the masterful fussy-cutting/piecing is inspiring, and the end result will be a quilt! No! TWO quilts! I'm doing two of each block. The idea was for a quilt for each daughter, but daughter #1 does not like quilts (I am CRUSHED typing that, like how) so I guess it will be for our bed. I'm undecided as to whether I do the Gridlock or the City Planner layout. Maybe one of each?
There is orange in my quilt for The Great Outdoors Blog Hop on right now, showcasing newly-released collections from Island Batik. There are over 40 giveaways, at least one per blogger and Island Batik's itself. My turn is this coming Wednesday. The quilt is done and on Avril. Cannot wait to show you. You'll get another sneak peek on Monday. Here is last week's in case you missed it:

One last thing and it involves orange!
The Quilting Company. I'll be writing a post on the quilt next week when I am fully back (this is just a pop-in post, ha) on the quilt. I was interviewed yesterday by Paintbrush Studio Fabrics (I can't believe I just wrote that sentence, nor that it happened, but it DID!) and you can read the interview here. There you'll find another shot of the quilt-in-progress. 🙌
Remember all month long you can try bluprint, Craftsy's new platform for their Netflix-style classes to watch. Affiliate links below. More on what I've been watching the past couple of weeks once I'm fully back. I've opened comments today, but please forgive me if I don't respond for a few days, as technically I'm not back until Monday.
And all classes are on sale this weekend! On an orange sign lol...
